BUFT National Career Fest 2026 Held

BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT), through its Career Development Club, successfully organized the BUFT National Career Fest 2026 on January 14–15 at its permanent campus. The two-day event was presented by BGMEA, KDS, and Prime Bank, powered by Centro, Fashion Step Group, Fakir Fashion, Shin Shin Group, FPG, and Masco Group, and co-powered by Auko-Tex Group, RH Corporation, and Asian Apparels Limited. The fest aimed to bridge the gap between academia and industry by creating a direct platform for interaction between employers and job seekers. Over 300 organizations took part in the event, drawing more than 10,000 job seekers and approximately 40,000 visitors. Participants had the opportunity to engage in direct recruitment, attend on-the-spot interviews, and take part in a series of workshops, seminars, and panel discussions focusing on career development and industry readiness.
The fest was graced by Dr. Naznin Kawshar Chowdhury, Executive Chairman, NSDA; Mr. Faruque Hassan, Chairman of the BUFT Board of Trustees; Mr. Mohammad Hatem, President of BKMEA; Mr. Inamul Haq Khan, Sr. Vice President, BGMEA; Mr. Nafis Ud Doula, Director of BGMEA; Mr. Mohammad Shohel, Director, BGMEA; Mr. Mohiuddin Ahmed Selim, Chairman, ITET; Mr. Shibbir Mahmud, Chairman, Swisstex Limited; Mr. Ehsanul Karim Kaiser, Convener, Interim Committee of ITET; and Mr. M M Mahbub Hasan, SVP, Prime Bank PLC. The welcome address was delivered by Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Adviser to BUFT, while Prof. Dr. Md. Alamgir Hossain, Acting Vice Chancellor of BUFT; The club’s Adviser Mr. Md. Abdul Mukit; the club’s President Abid Hossain; and the club’s General Secretary Mahmud Fantasir also addressed the gathering.
In their speeches, the guests emphasized the importance of English language proficiency, leadership skills, and adaptability in today’s competitive global job market. They noted that academic degrees alone are insufficient for long-term success and highlighted the need for strong communication skills to assume leadership roles in professional life. The event received strong media support, with Channel 24, The Business Standard, Daily Kaler Kantha, Radio Today, The Daily Campus, Textile Focus, and Textile Today serving as media partners.
