Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or autism has become a rapid concern worldwide and for countries like Bangladesh it has only begun getting the spotlight in the last decade. From activists, to policymakers, and even the educational and healthcare professionals treating autism, every single individual has been asking the question of “how?”. How do we “cure” such a condition? Is there a cure? How do we implement the right treatment? The Department of Media and Mass Communication (MMC) at the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), in collaboration with the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), recently successfully hosted MMC Fest 2025. This day-long celebration of creativity and culture brought together students from schools, colleges, and universities for a vibrant showcase of artistic talent. The event featured multiple competitions, including an On-Spot Painting Competition and an On-Campus Mobile Photography Competition, both open to students from classes 9 to 12. A Poster Presentation Competition welcomed participation from both school and university-level students. The ‘UIU ASCEND’ team from United International University (UIU) won 2nd place in Asia and 7th place in the World at the CanSat Competition 2025 organized by the American Astronautical Society (AAS). The competition was held on June 05-08, 2025 in Virginia, USA. The UIU team stood 3rd in Asia and 11th place in the World at the CanSat Competition 2024. The Competition was sponsored by NASA, US Naval Research Lab (NRL), Siemens among others. CanSat is an annual student design-build-launch competition for space-related topics that involves designing a satellite capsule (container and probe). This satellite needs to be launched and deployed at a height of about 670 to 725 meters, and demonstrate successful deployment and landing sequences till the probe lands successfully. The American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) proudly announces that Iram Ajmain Mugdho, a first-year, third-semester student from the Department of English, has been selected for the prestigious, fully funded “Study of the U.S. Institutes (SUSI)” student exchange program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State. As part of this program, Mugdho will spend one month at the University of Nevada, Reno, USA, participating in academic and cultural exchanges centered around the theme “Natural Resources.” This selection is a significant achievement for both Mugdho and the AIUB community. As part of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC's Corporate Social Responsibility program, the Bank has distributed Iron Sheet among the affected families of Kalapara Upazila due to Cyclone Remal. Iqbal U Ahmed, Independent Director of Bangladesh Finance, has been appointed as the new Chairman of Bangladesh Finance. He officially took over the role from the former Chairman, Manwar Hossain, on Thursday following the board meeting held at the company's head office.
