Mohammed Enayetur Rahman, CEO and President of Ulkasemi, has been honored again with the Commercially Important Person (CIP – NRB) 2026 Award for his Outstanding Contribution in Remitting Foreign Currency during the Fiscal Year 2024–2025.
He was recognized as a CIP (NRB) 2026 in the category of Highest Remittance Sender through legal channels by the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment, highlighting the critical role of non-resident Bangladeshis in strengthening the national economy.
On 17 December, 2025 on the occasion of International Migrants Day and National Expatriates Day, the award was formally handed over at a ceremony held at the Osmani Smriti Milonayoton, where Dr. Asif Nazrul, Adviser to the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs; the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment; and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, presented the recognition.
Remittances remain a vital pillar of Bangladesh’s economy amid global economic challenges. In recognition of such contributions, the government confers CIP (NRB) status each year under the Commercially Important Person (NRB) Policy 2018.
Mohammed Enayetur Rahman leads Ulkasemi, Bangladesh’s pioneering semiconductor design company, which aims to transform the country’s semiconductor sector into a multi-billion-dollar industry and create employment for 5,000 engineers by 2030.
