AIUB at the 37th AUAP Annual Conference

The Association of Universities of the Asia and the Pacific (AUAP), commemorated 3 major milestones in their Joint Events this year, the 9th AUAP Forum and Networking focusing on "Global Networks: Paving the Way for Innovative, Diverse, and Sustainable Academic Landscapes in Asia and the Pacific", the 36th Annual Conference aimed at "Advancing Excellence for Global Sustainability by Aligning Institutions to World Rankings and Ratings", and “30th  Anniversary Celebration of AUAP”. Dr. Tahmina Faiz, Associate Professor and Head, Dept. of Pharmacy, United International University (UIU) was awarded the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD) Fellowship for her outstanding achievements in international research. The Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD) awards Early Career Fellowships annually to support emerging women researchers from developing countries to enhance their research skills, connect with international networks, and develop scientific leadership. In its latest stride toward fostering digital wellness, TikTok today announced the launch of an innovative in-app guided meditation feature aimed at promoting better sleep and emotional health among its diverse user base. This launch coincides with the introduction of a $2.3 million global Mental Health Education Fund, reinforcing TikTok’s commitment to creating a safer, more supportive online environment. Enhancing well-being through technology As part of its existing Sleep Hours feature, the new meditation experience is designed to encourage users to wind down at night with calming, guided exercises. Research shows that mindful meditation can improve sleep quality in people of all ages, so TikTok introduced Meditation in Sleep Hours to all users, regardless of their age. ISU Organizes Grand Reception for its Cricket Team

The Grand Reception ceremony for ISU Cricket Team was held at the Mohakhali campus of International Standard University (ISU) on 19th May 2025 under the chairmanship of ISU Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Abdul Awal Khan. UIU MARINER qualifies for the 2025 World Championship

 The UIU MARINER team from United International University (UIU) has qualified for the 2025 World Championship MATE ROV Competition, organised by the Marine Technology Society. This is one of the most prestigious competitions for university students in marine robotics. The event will take place from June 17 to 21, 2025, in Alpena, Michigan, USA. The Advanced Underwater Robotics and Automation (AURA) crew from United International University recently performed a live demonstration, showcasing their self-built remotely operated vehicle (ROV). During the demonstration, the robot successfully retrieved plastic bottles and tangled fishing lines from a lake. NRB elects new Chairman for the executive board of directors

Md Quamrul Islam Chowdhury has recently been elected chairman of the executive committee of the board of directors of NRB Bank PLC at a board meeting. Chowdhury is an accomplished banker with over four decades of experience in the banking and financial services sector in Bangladesh. He served as managing director and CEO of Mercantile Bank PLC from February 2019 to November 2024, where he led the bank through significant operational and strategic milestones.
