As part of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC's Corporate Social Responsibility program, the Bank has distributed Iron Sheet among the affected families of Kalapara Upazila due to Cyclone Remal. On May 31, 2025 two bans of Iron Sheet were distributed to 240 families each with the help of Bangladesh Army at the Alhaj Jalal Uddin College auditorium in Dhulasar Union, Kalapara Upazila, Patuakhali. At the time of distribution Engineer Md. Iqbal U Ahmed, Independent Director of Bangladesh Finance, has been appointed as the new Chairman of Bangladesh Finance. He officially took over the role from the former Chairman, Manwar Hossain, on Thursday following the board meeting held at the company's head office. The handover ceremony was attended by the Managing Director & CEO Md. Kyser Hamid, board members, and senior management. Ahmed, is a well-known figure in the banking and finance industry. The Grand Reception ceremony for ISU Cricket Team was held at the Mohakhali campus of International Standard University (ISU) on 19th May 2025 under the chairmanship of ISU Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Abdul Awal Khan.  The UIU MARINER team from United International University (UIU) has qualified for the 2025 World Championship MATE ROV Competition, organised by the Marine Technology Society. This is one of the most prestigious competitions for university students in marine robotics. The event will take place from June 17 to 21, 2025, in Alpena, Michigan, USA. The Advanced Underwater Robotics and Automation (AURA) crew from United International University recently performed a live demonstration, showcasing their self-built remotely operated vehicle (ROV). During the demonstration, the robot successfully retrieved plastic bottles and tangled fishing lines from a lake.
