Two new LEED-certified factories have been added

Petrobangla's notice to terminate gas project is invalid, may affect energy security in country: Summit Group

Summit Group has urged the Bangladesh Oil, Gas and Mineral Corporation (“Petrobangla”) to reconsider a notice to terminate the country’s third Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (“FSRU”) project. It said the termination was not only invalid but that any delay to the project, for which Summit has already invested approximately USD 20 million on implementation, could result in further energy insecurity in Bangladesh. Summit LNG Terminal II Co. Ltd. (“SLNG II”), a Dhaka subsidiary of Singapore-based Summit Power International Limited (“SPIL”), wrote to Petrobangla to state its objections to the notice. Plastic recycling project involving 3 BRAC University students wins pitch contest of OSUN course

A plastic recycling project of a multinational student team, whose three members are from BRAC University, has been awarded the first prize of USD 1,500 of international pitch competition Launch a Different World 2024. The project focuses on converting recycled plastic into cost-effective 3D printing materials and sustainable products, and in the process, empower communities, reduce plastic waste, and promote a circular economy.  Of the members of “Team Repurpose”, Mohammad Imran Uddin (MBA in Marketing), Mohiuddin Ahmed (BBA in Finance), and Abtahi Abrar (BBA in Marketing) are studying at BRAC Business School of BRAC University. UIU hosts second undergraduate research symposium

The School of Business and Economics (SoBE) at United International University (UIU) hosted the second Undergraduate Research Symposium (URS) 2024 on January 13, 2025, at the UIU Campus in Dhaka. Shwapno super store stands with farmers from Meherpur

Despite a bumper crop of cauliflower among winter vegetables, farmers in Meherpur are not getting the price they deserve. Farmers in the district are not getting the desired price for the vegetables they produce. Most vegetables are being wasted in the field due to lacking buyers. Private Clinic Owner Allegedly Receives Death Threats Amid Reclamation Efforts National  

Correspondent: In Barguna, Pathorghata municipal a private clinic and pharmacy owner, Md Tayfur Rahman, along with his wife and staff, Ras allegedly been receiving death threats as he tries to reclaim his illegally occupied property. Mr. Tayfur Rahman lost by 75 lacs above. Mr. Tayfur Rahman has operated the Ma Aid Health Care Diagnostic Center and Ma Aid Model Pharma under license number HSM4519160 and drug license number BRT-1224 since 2016. According to his complaint, on June 6, 2021, local criminals forcibly took control of both the clinic and pharmacy, threatening him with death.
