Managing Director of Social Islami Bank Held a View-exchange Meeting with Senior Executives

Managing Director & CEO of Social Islami Bank Zafar Alam held a view-exchange meeting with the senior executives at the bank’s head office on 11 August 2024. Mohammad Forkanullah, Abdul Hannan Khan & Mohammad Habibur Rahman, Deputy Managing Directors of the Bank were present at the meeting.  In the meeting, the Managing Director wished the interim government success in building a new Bangladesh and hoped that stability would soon return to all areas of the country, including the banking sector. BRAC Bank, GUK renew partnership to boost high-value crop production in Bogura char areas

BRAC Bank and Gram Unnayan Karma (GUK) have again signed a strategic alliance to help farmers in remote char areas grow high-value crops using innovative agricultural technology and knowhow. The two organizations will work together as part of a specially designed Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative focused on agriculture, according to a press statement.  The partnership will provide farmers of Dhunat, Bogura access to machinery and technology, enabling them to enhance harvest of cash crops including maize, jute, mustard, green chilli. Last year, the bank initiated partnership with GUK to assist farmers with high-yielding crops in Sariakandi, Bogura. Southeast Bank PLC. Signs MoU with Travel Business Portal

Southeast Bank PLC. signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with “Travel Business Portal” at Bank's Head Office for providing Payment Gateway Service, Payroll Banking Service, Collection Service, Payment Services, and other Banking Services. Nuruddin Md. Sadeque Hossain, Managing Director of Southeast Bank PLC., and Md. Monzurul Alam, Proprietor of Travel Business Portal exchanged the agreement for their respective organizations. Under this agreement, employees, and executives of Travel Business Portal will get their salaries and other benefits through SEBPLC Payroll Banking Service. Chevron Sponsored Summer School closing ceremony held at AUW, Chittagong

Asian University for Women celebrated the successful conclusion of its 2024 Summer School programme with a closing ceremony held on July 30, 2024 at the AUW campus in Chattogram, said a press release. The event was attended by distinguished guests, students, parents, media and representatives from Chevron Bangladesh. Chevron Bangladesh has been a key partner in AUW’s Summer School initiative since its launch in 2019, helping to shape its development and success. Brac Bank again posts strong deposit, revenue growth

Brac Bank’s consolidated net profit after-tax (NPAT) in first six months of 2024 grew by 77% year-on -year to Tk591 crore supported by strong deposit and revenue growth. On a standalone basis, bank’s customer deposits grew by 34% on annualized basis, from Tk49,132 crore to Tk57,511 crore in the first half of 2024 and 37% increase in revenue from Tk1,510 crore to Tk2,061 crore year-on-year. On consolidated basis including all subsidiaries, the bank, registered an NPAT of Tk591 crore in the first half of 2024 compared to Tk334 crore in 2023.   Brac Bank's standalone NPAT for the first half of 2024 was Tk519 crore, up from Tk303 crore in last year, registering a 71% growth.  Consolidated Earnings per share (EPS) increased to Tk2.95 in H1 2024 compared to Tk1.75 in the corresponding period of 2023.
