Sadiqul elected SIB PLC Chairman

Professor Dr. M. Sadiqul Islam, FCMA, was recently elected as Chairman of Social Islami Bank PLC during its 516th Board Meeting. With over 38 years of teaching experience at the University of Dhaka, he currently serves as a Professor in the Department of Finance.
Dr. Islam holds an M.Com. in Finance from the University of Dhaka, an MBA from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada, and a PhD in Finance from the Athens University of Economics and Business, Greece.
He presented a number of papers at international conferences in Australia, USA, Japan, United Arab Emirates, Thailand, India etc. A Qualified Cost and Management Accountant and a Fellow of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh, Dr. Islam is also the Director of the Center for Corporate Governance and Finance Studies at the University of Dhaka, and life member of the Finance Alumni Association, of the same university.
His scholarly contributions include numerous research monographs, articles, working papers and case studies. He has been honored with the Canadian Commonwealth Scholarship for his MBA and the SSF Scholarship for his PhD in Greece. He is an independent director of Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC & Robi Axiata PLC.
