‘Shabdhane Online-A’ Campaign – Empowering Bangladesh’s Youth with Online Safety Awareness

The ‘Shabdhane Online-A’ campaign, a joint initiative of JAAGO Foundation and TikTok, has reached significant milestones in Bangladesh in promoting online safety and digital hygiene awareness among the youth in the country. With the active involvement of Youth Ambassadors from across the country, the campaign has now reached over 100,000 youths, educating them about the importance of online safety and responsible digital behavior. Originally launched in 2022, the ‘Shabdhane Online-A’ campaign marked the beginning of its third phase in late 2024 with a Youth Ambassador Training Camp, where 128 Youth Ambassadors from 64 districts participated in a comprehensive residential training program. 15th Bangladesh Physics Olympiad 2025 held at AIUB

A reason to celebrate university convocations

Ishtiaque Abedin and Dr Mohammad Zahidul Islam Khan:  Bangladesh (AIUB) was held on February 22, 2025. However, the journey to the finishing line of 2,547 AIUB graduates was not an act of providence. An intuitive but staid question that follows this festive season of convocations in Bangladesh is: What ought to be the meaningful and tangible reasons for a university to celebrate convocations, and how can we measure them? Amidst the flurry of traditional impressionistic celebratory reasons, this article highlights a few benchmarks —measured in the context of AIUB and, by extension, can be used by any other universities— celebrating convocations.
