AIUB Celebrated World Intellectual Property (IP) Day 2026

The American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) celebrated World Intellectual Property (IP) Day 2026 by organizing a seminar and a rally on April 26, 2026, in line with the global theme “IP and Sports: Ready, Set, Innovate.”
The seminar, titled “Intellectual Property in Sports: Legal and Commercial Intersections,” highlighted the importance of intellectual property in the sports industry, focusing on legal, innovative, and commercial aspects. The session featured Mr. Mirza Golam Sarwar, Deputy Director (Patent), Department of Patent, Industrial Design & Trademarks, Ministry of Industries, The People’s Republic of Bangladesh, as the distinguished speaker, followed by an interactive Q&A session. The honorable Vice Chancellor of AIUB, Prof. Dr. Saiful Islam, delivered the closing remarks while honorable Pro-Vice Chancellor of AIUB, Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman, inaugurated the session. The event was held at the AIUB Auditorium with active participation from faculty members and students. A rally was also organized after the seminar to mark the occasion and raise awareness on intellectual property rights. The program reflected AIUB’s commitment to promoting innovation and intellectual property awareness within the academic community.
