HSBC HONORS ARTIST HASHEM KHAN’S CREATIVE VOYAGE

The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC) has recently celebrated the world-renowned artist, Hashem Khan by ushering his cultural journey in the spotlight. On this occasion, an artwork album was published. As an inspiration in the field of art, Hashem Khan is known to conjure vivid representation of history and humanity with his brushstrokes. His artworks are known for capturing the raw essence of rural landscapes and the fervent spirit of the liberation struggle. He has been awarded with multiple accolades including the Ekushey Padak and Swadhinata Padak for his immense contributions.
At the unveiling ceremony, art enthusiasts of the country were gathered to honor his lifetime artworks. With HSBC’s association with the album publication, this event aimed to preserve the cultural heritage of Bangladesh and encourage artistic expression.
Dr. Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, Adviser to the Honourable Prime Minister for Education and Cultural Affairs, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh attended the event as the chief guest and Naheed Ezaher Khan, MP, State Minister of Cultural Affairs, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, graced the event as the Chairperson. Asaduzzaman Noor, MP, Chairman of Standing Committee on Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh; Mofidul Hoque, Founder Trustee of the Bangladesh Liberation War Museum; and Luva Nahid Choudhury, Director General of Bengal Foundation also attended the event as the esteemed special guests of the event.
Regarding this initiative, Hashem Khan mentioned, “From the onset of 1956, my canvas has borne witness to the daily ritual of painting that has seamlessly integrated into my existence. I have been involved with various mediums to reach the hearts of the masses. By drawing illustrations for countless books, I conveyed my art to them. Through the publication of my album today, I wish to introduce a handpicked compilation of my artworks to the new generation, while bringing my paintings to those who cherish my art. I am deeply grateful to HSBC for their support in publishing the album. “
Commenting on the event, Md Mahbub ur Rahman said, “HSBC is honored to be associated with the publication of the album of Hashem Khan's selected artworks. We expect this to be followed by his solo art exhibition hopefully by this year. Hashem Khan is indeed one of the iconic personalities with diverse range of his works influencing the rich cultural journey and heritage of Bangladesh. The collaboration underscores the power of art to bring communities together and inspire future generations.“
This ceremony blended in the colors of art with cultural performances to create a harmonious symphony in the mind of the audiences.
