Ms. Shahira Sarwat, a student in the Department of Architecture at the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), has received a Commendation at the Commonwealth Association of Architects (CAA) Awards 2024 in the 'CAA Presidents' Awards' category. This category recognizes exceptional work by final-year architecture students. Shahira’s thesis project, titled "Heritage Sanctuary for Geology," was completed during the Fall 2023-2024 semester under the guidance of studio teachers Ashik Vaskor Mannan and Irfat Alam, with Arefeen Ibrahim serving as the project supervisor. Southeast University (SEU) signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with TMSS Grand Health Sector to foster collaboration in research, education, and healthcare. Chevron Bangladesh and Green Savers, an environmental organisation, jointly inaugurated a tree planting programme in the vicinity of Chevron Bangladesh’s Bibiyana Gas Plant in Habiganj as part of the comprehensive tree planting initiative across the country to protect biodiversity. Chevron Bangladesh launched a five-year plantation program to transform the landscape around its gas plant. This initiative will see the planting of over 4,000 highquality saplings, including a variety of flowers, fruit trees, wood trees, and medicinal plants.
