AIUB MMC department celebrates harmonising cultures

the Media and Mass Communication (MMC) Department of the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) organized an inspiring and vibrant event titled “Harmonizing Cultures: Live, Love & Flourish” to welcome freshers and bid farewell to graduating students. The program was inaugurated with a welcome speech by Ms. Afroza Sultana, Coordinator of the MMC Department.
Professor Dr. Saiful Islam, Vice-Chancellor of AIUB, graced the event as the Chief Guest. In his speech, Dr. Saiful Islam emphasized the transformative role of art and culture, particularly in the fields of communication and journalism. He encouraged students to pursue constructive journalism, reminding them of their power to shape national discourse and connect with society. The event also welcomed notable guests, including Mr. Ishtiaque Abedin, Founder Member of the Board of Trustees, AIUB; Ms. Shania Abedin, Member of the Board of Trustees, AIUB; Dr. Tazul Islam, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences; and Mr. AJM Shafiul Alam Bhuiyan, Advisor of the MMC Department. Heads of various departments within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, along with faculty members and students from different programs, attended, fostering an atmosphere of unity and celebration.
Ms. Shania Abedin expressed pride in the MMC Department’s rapid growth and commended the students for graduating with exceptional, hands-on skills. Professor Dr. Tazul Islam highlighted the MMC program's remarkable progress, noting that the increasing number of students and positive feedback from their families reflect the department’s strength. Addressing the graduating students, Professor Dr. AJM Shafiul Alam Bhuiyan reminded them that their relationship with the university does not end with graduation. The event concluded with a dynamic cultural program showcasing the creative talents of AIUB students. Harmonizing Cultures: Live, Love & Flourish served as a memorable occasion, warmly welcoming new students and bidding farewell to graduates, reflecting AIUB’s commitment to fostering creativity, cultural appreciation, and a sense of belonging within its community.
