Aminul Hakim Appointed as BIGF Chair

A new committee has been formed for the 2024-2026 tenure at the Bangladesh Internet Governance Forum (BIGF). Mohammed Aminul Hakim, CEO of Amber IT Limited has been elected as the Chairperson of this new executive committee.
The Internet Governance Forum (IGF) is a multi-stakeholder governance group for policy dialogue on issues of Internet governance. Bangladesh Internet Governance Forum (BIGF) has been established to accelerate internet governance activities with the UN. It is a multi-stakeholder platform that governs various internet activities along with advisement to the government to develop internet use in Bangladesh.
The new Chairperson of BIGF Mohammad Aminul Hakim said, Not only domestically, we must construct policies on the internet internationally too. Also to eliminate discrimination, we need to construct internet policies with multi-stakeholders. We are committed to working on those issues. We also want to start seminars and workshops on new technologies like IoT, AI, Big Data, etc, he added.
Other members of the executive committee are Vice Chairman Saidur Rahman (General Manager, Bangladesh Submarine Cables Plc) and Md. Saimum Reza Talukder (Senior Lecturer, School of Law, BRAC University). Secretary General Mohammad Abdul Haque Anu (Executive Secretary, Computer Jagat) and Executive Member A H M Bazlur Rahman (Chief Executive Officer, BNNRC).
