Prize-Giving Ceremony of AIUB Games 2024 and Champions' Reception held at AIUB

On the 22nd of December 2024, the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) hosted a celebratory prize-giving ceremony for the AIUB Games 2024, along with a special reception to honor the SAFF Women Champions and the Runner-Up team of the Ispahani Prothom Alo Inter-University Football Tournament 2024. The event celebrated the exceptional talents and achievements of AIUB’s athletes, underscoring the university’s commitment to fostering excellence in sports and leadership. The ceremony was graced by the presence of esteemed guests, including Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna, a Member of the AIUB Board of Trustees, Professor Dr. Abdur Rahman, the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Manzur H. Khan, the Proctor, and Dr. Mohammad Zahidul Islam Khan, the Registrar, and Mr. Joynal Abedin, the Coordinator of the Office of Sports. Their presence added a touch of grandeur and inspiration to the event, highlighting the importance of sports in holistic education.
The ceremony also recognized achievements across 11 segments in 5 different categories. Out of 2,500 participants, a total of 160 were awarded with Champion and Runner-Up crests, prize money, and certificates, making the event a grand celebration of talent and dedication. A key highlight of the event was the recognition of extraordinary achievements by Krishna Rani Sarkar and Sanjida Akter, whose outstanding contributions to women’s football brought immense pride to the university and the nation. On behalf of Ms. Nadia Anwar, the Chairman and Founder Member of the AIUB Board of Trustees, they were awarded Taka 50,000 each, as a token of appreciation for their dedication and skill. In addition to this, a grand token of appreciation amounting to Taka 200,000 was announced for the remarkable performance of the AIUB team as the Runner-Up in the Ispahani Prothom Alo Inter-University Football Tournament 2024. This recognition not only celebrates their resilience and teamwork but also motivates future athletes to strive for excellence in their pursuits. The Office of Sports, with the support of the Office of Student Affairs, has established a platform that promotes unity, collaboration, and a culture of excellence among students, faculty, and staff, fostering a positive and inclusive community.
