The American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) is set to make history today as the first university in Bangladesh to undergo an External Quality Assessment (EQA) site visit by the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC), to get accreditation for its Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) program. This milestone event, which will span three days from January 21 to January 23, 2025, underscores AIUB's commitment to academic excellence and quality assurance.
The EQA visit is a direct result of AIUB’s trailblazing submission of the Self-Assessment Report (SAR) for its Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) program to BAC on May 21, 2024. This groundbreaking initiative highlights AIUB’s proactive approach in aligning with national accreditation standards and demonstrates its dedication to fostering a culture of continuous improvement in higher education. The External Quality Assessment (EQA) Team from BAC, is comprised of three esteemed Quality Assurance and Subject Matter Experts from reputed universities of Bangladesh.
The visit will include detailed evaluation of the EEE program’s curriculum, teaching methodologies, and student learning outcomes, review of relevant documentation and policies, meetings with university administration, faculty members, and IQAC representatives, interactive sessions with students and alumni to gather insights into their academic experiences, visits to classrooms, laboratories, the library, and IT facilities to assess the university’s infrastructure and resources. The visit has been coordinated and organized by the AIUB Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in collaboration with the EEE Program Self-Assessment Committee (PSAC).
