Milestone Credit Transfer Agreement Signed Between SAE University College, Australia, and Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology

A milestone Credit Transfer Arrangement (CTA) Agreement was signed today between SAE University College, Australia, and Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology (SMUCT), Bangladesh. The virtual signing ceremony took place from the meeting rooms of both institutions and was moderated by Abdullah Al Masud, Advisor, SMUCT, and Ms. Jenna Schiller, Head of Education Partnerships, SAE University College.
The agreement was formally signed by Dr. Luke McMillan, General Manager, SAE University College, and Professor Dr. Md. Shah-E-Alam, Vice-Chancellor, SMUCT. This milestone collaboration will enable SMUCT students to transfer up to 70 credits toward SAE University College’s Computer Science program. The event paved the way for institutional excellence and future collaboration.
SAE University College, a globally recognized leader in creative media education, has a presence in 23 countries. SMUCT, a comprehensive private university based in Dhaka, is widely known for its job-oriented and creative education programs, particularly in Fashion Design, Graphic Design and Multimedia, Interior Architecture, Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), and Computer Science and Information Technology (CSIT).
During the event, speakers from both institutions highlighted their strengths and expressed enthusiasm for continued collaboration. Distinguished attendees representing SAE University College included- Dr. Magali McDuffie, Manager, Education Partnerships, SAE University College, Mr. Jahir Uddin, Regional Director, Bangladesh, Navitas, Mr. Mustafizur Rahman, Senior Director, Austrade, Australian High Commission in Bangladesh
Representing SMUCT, Dr. Ahsanul Kabir, Chairman of Shanto-Mariam Foundation and Sundarban Courier Service (Pvt.) Ltd., and a member of the Board of Trustees, SMUCT, spoke about the university’s founding vision and its status as the only design and creative technology-focused university in the region.
Other key attendees from SMUCT included- Prof. Mohammad Mubarak Hossain, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Dr. Par Moshiur Rahman, Registrar, Mr. Shakeel Hossain, Secretary, Board of Trustees, and Mr. Nasim Al Rashid, Deputy Registrar. Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam, Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attended the program as an especial guest of the university.
